Environmental Chemicals and Metabolic Health
A number of studies are currently being undertaken that aim to find out whether contact with some environmental chemicals might impact metabolic mechanisms and health conditions. This session will analyze how exposure to environment, endocrine activity, metabolism and metabolic health are interlinked.
Possible topics for discussion are endocrine disrupting chemicals, environmental pollutants, exposure routes, developmental exposure, metabolic mechanisms, biological susceptibilities and possible interactions between environment and lifestyle. Scientists will present information about methodological difficulties related to assessment of exposure and health risks.
International Obesity and Metabolism Conference will serve as a multi-disciplinary platform where environmental health scientists, toxicologists, epidemiologists, endocrinologists and public health experts will get together.
