Gastrointestinal-brain communication is key for controlling hunger, satiety, food consumption, and energy balance. In this session, we will examine gut-brain interaction as a multifaceted biological pathway, incorporating gut signals, neurons, hormones, nutrients, and metabolic control.
Discussed topics will include: gut signals, gastrointestinal hormones, nutrient sensing, neural communication, regulation of appetite, satiety processes, and interactions between digestion and nervous systems. Scientists will present new knowledge about the biological control of appetite and satiety and the factors that can affect individual appetite reactions.
We will examine the ways the new insight into gut-brain interaction may help in developing future metabolic interventions. At the International Obesity and Metabolism Conference, scientists specializing in neuroscience, gastroenterology, endocrinology, nutrition, and obesity will share their new discoveries.
