Mitochondrial Function and Metabolic Disorders
Mitochondria play key roles in energy generation, nutrient metabolism, and metabolism regulation. This conference will look at how mitochondria impact metabolic health as well as how changes in mitochondria can result in metabolic diseases.
Scientists will address mitochondria as energy generators, oxidizers, sources of stress, signaling cells, metabolizers in skeletal muscles, fat tissues, and adaptors. Scientists may also talk about interactions between mitochondria and physical activity, nutrition, aging, and metabolic diseases.
The International Obesity and Metabolism Conference will provide an opportunity for molecular biologists, physiologists, endocrinologists, nutritionists, and other scientists to share knowledge in order to better understand the role of mitochondria and their possible significance for biomarkers, prevention, and metabolic therapies.
