Interaction between adiposity, metabolic control, bone physiology, and skeletal health is an exciting field.
This session will focus on the intricate interrelationships between body composition, metabolic signals, bone metabolism, exercise and skeletal health. Possible areas covered include bone turnover, bone quality, body composition, mechanical loading, nutrient supply, metabolic signals, bone markers, musculoskeletal health, and whether there are any differences in bone quantity and bone quality. Scientists will investigate how metabolism can affect skeletal health.
The session will facilitate networking among endocrinologists, obesity experts, bone scientists, nutritionists, physiologists and clinical scientists. The International Obesity and Metabolism Congress will offer an opportunity to exchange information on new research and improved tools for assessment and prevention in relation to both metabolism and bone health.
