The working environment can play an enormous role in physical activity, sedentary behavior, dietary habits, stress, sleep patterns, and metabolism. In this session, we will address the occupational environment as a significant context in which obesity prevention and promotion of metabolic health occur.
Possible topics can include workplace nutrition interventions, workplace physical activity interventions, sedentary behavior at work, work schedule, shift work, workplace wellness programs, occupational health practices, workplace food environments, and workplace strategies for promoting healthier behaviors. Researchers will address barriers to participation, efficacy, and sustainability.
This session is going to bring together researchers from such disciplines as occupational health, public health, nutrition science, employers, behavioral sciences, and healthcare. The International Obesity and Metabolism Conference will address practical and evidence-based workplace strategies to promote healthier behaviors.
