Different individuals can react to one dietary intervention in various ways; hence, there is a need to make an individual approach more common in metabolic science. During this session at the International Obesity and Metabolism Conference, participants will discuss the topic of precision nutrition and the possibility of implementing biological, nutritional, behavioral, and metabolic data in order to personalize metabolic approaches.
The following topics will be covered during the event: metabolic phenotyping, nutritional biomarkers, individual responses to dietary changes, genetic factors, metabolic profiles, variability in food responses, and personalized diets. Scientists may disclose some findings that would show the effect of individual traits on response to certain dietary patterns and nutritional interventions. The use of technologies for tracking dietary intake and metabolic responses will be also discussed.
During the session, participants will discuss both the opportunities and limits of precision nutrition in the context of clinics and public health. They will talk about scientific data, costs, availability, ethics, implementation issues, and need for research. At the International Obesity and Metabolism Conference, nutritionists, doctors, scientists, and metabolic experts will have the opportunity to discuss the future of personalized nutrition.
